The universal CAN/CAN FD bus router can realize the function of CAN/CAN FD network data forwarding and can be used to extend the communication distance.

  • The PCAN-Router FD is capable of connecting to 2 CAN FD or CAN buses. Built on an ARM Cortex M4F microcontroller, the module's behavior and data routing between the 2 CAN FD channels are fully programmable. Notably, this module facilitates seamless conversion between CAN and CAN FD, making it effortless to integrate CAN FD applications into existing CAN 2.0 networks.
  • Firmware can be created using programming libraries and the GNU compiler for C and C++. It is then transferred to the module via the CAN interface. When shipped, the PCAN-Router FD includes pre-loaded sample firmware, and the corresponding source code is provided in the shipping package.
  • The module is installed in an aluminum profile casing, and is shipped in versions with two D-Sub connectors or a screw-terminal strip.

  • Onboard 4 kByte EEPROM
  • 8 MByte SPI flash memory
  • 2 high-speed CAN channels (ISO 11898-2)
    • Complies with CAN standards 2.0 A/B and FD
    • Supports CAN FD with ISO and Non-ISO standards
    • CAN FD bit rates (up to 64-bit data field) ranging from 25 kbit/s to 12 Mbit/s
    • CAN bit rates range from 25 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s.
    • NXP TJA1044GT CAN transceiver.
  • Features 2 colored LEDs for status indications
  • Connections can be made through either 2 9-pin D-Sub connectors or a 10-pole screw terminal board (Phoenix)
  • RS-232 connector for serial data transmission
  • I/O connections include:
    • 1 digital input (low-active)
    • 1 digital output (Low-side switch, max. 600 mA)
  • 2 additional digital inputs, selectable for RS-232 (low-active)
  • Offers an aluminum alloy casing with optional DIN rail mounting
  • Supports a supply voltage range from 8 to 30 V
  • Operates efficiently within an extended temperature range from -40 to 85 °C
  • New firmware can be loaded via the CAN interface
  • Firmware transfer via CAN requires a PEAK CAN interface
  • Windows® 10 and 8.1(32/64-bit)
  • About CAN bus connection: CAN interface from PC to PEAK-System (e.g. PCAN-USB)
