Capture Module 1000 HIGH H-MTD
Technica Gigabit Car Ethernet Capture Module: CM 1000 HIGH H-MTD - Capture your Gigabit Car Ethernet traffic without disrupting the original network.
Functional overview
Total 12 ports, will not affect the original network.
Making Ethernet the ideal logging network
- The Capture Module 1000 High is an active tap device used to capture traffic with 6 ports and up to 6 point-to-point 100/1000BASE-T1 connections (12 ports total).
- Analyzing AVB/TSN traffic is made possible by capturing traffic off the network and providing hardware timestamps with 40 ns resolution. By including a traffic shaping feature, the recorded output of many bus channels is stabilized for transmission to a data logger or test PC, eliminating the potential for sudden data loss.
- The Capture Module 1000 high provides all logged data in a standard Ethernet frame via the Technology Enhanced Capture Module Protocol (TECMP), allowing traceability of traffic sources, source timestamps, packet counters, etc., making Ethernet the ideal logging network.
- In addition, it supports the PLP protocol. The Capture Module 1000 High sends messages with 40ns resolution timestamps, providing a fast and efficient solution, supported by its extended power mode for automotive integration. These messages are sent over 1000BASE-T1 (or Gigabit Ethernet) in the PDU of the Ethernet MAC II frame.
Multiple devices can be used in the same setup
- Multiple devices can be used in the same setup if more 1000BASE-T1 ports are needed, or if you want to record other bus systems. Using 802.1AS's built-in synchronization enables time synchronization with other devices, simultaneous use, and thus cascading with other products such as other capture modules.
- The Capture Module 1000 High's built-in network server makes it easy to configure the device. It also includes a rotary switch for manually configuring its IP address.
- Capture Module 1000 High includes a start-up buffer and a high-speed start-up function so that the initial start-up information of the network is not lost. In this way, the device can record all important messages from the vehicle system without losing any messages in the communication between the devices.
Suitable for general purpose testing
- Capture Module 1000 High supports Marvell 88Q2112 A2 PHY in "IEEE Mode" as well as "Legacy Mode" through the configuration website. Please refer to the user's manual for detailed technical description.
- The Capture Module is an innovative and unique traffic capture solution with unique features adapted to the current technological requirements in the automotive field. Its extraordinary functionality makes the Capture Module 1000 High the perfect choice for all tasks in the test field.
- The new generation of active tap devices, the Capture Module series, is designed to fulfill the most critical requirements in contemporary automotive ECU development. Capture modules are used by various OEMs in the automotive field.
CM 1000 HIGH H-MTD captures your Gigabit Carrier Ethernet traffic without interfering with the original network. Adds a state-of-the-art timestamp to data sent over the line

Product Advantage
Each message captured from the in-vehicle network (SerDes, CAN, LIN, Car Ethernet ......) is encapsulated in a standard transport layer frame. This needs to be embedded in an IEEE 802.3-compliant standard Ethernet frame. Data from non-Ethernet communication systems as well as Ethernet-based systems is transmitted in Ethernet frames and is explicitly identified using the PLP/TECMP protocol. Ethernet frames are transmitted without changing them or their headers. All messages are intact. This ensures that analysis tools can easily access unaltered data, including time-stamped logs from all bus systems in a file.
All products in our capture module family support 802.1AS for time synchronization in applications with multiple communication technologies (SerDes, CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, etc.) recorded by our capture modules. In addition, PLP and TECMP protocols are supported to provide synchronized log files containing critical metadata. ASAM CMP will also be supported.
