SXIVE SoftISP SDK -- Image Signal Processing Toolkit

Customize image enhancement algorithms for more control over the image processing pipeline. Design your own ISP or use a separate image algorithm.

The ISP SDK is instantly adaptable to different imagers and lenses, and provides a rich set of usage examples that make it easy to get started.

Numerous output modules can be integrated into common image processing tools such as gstreamer, ffmpeg, opencv, or GUI.

The ISP SDK is a closed source C++ library that provides optimized image processing algorithms for high quality results. It is provided as a Debian package for easy installation and management of the SDK.

Automatic driving L4 video software development:To develop definitive, high-quality image processing solutions for autonomous vehicles, SXIVE takes into account downstream image evaluation through neural networks, ISP adjustments performed directly in the vehicle, and implementation of the required reference applications and algorithmic steps for customers.

 

Parking system image processing solution:The customer's existing parking system had problems with image processing in certain lighting conditions. The customer needed an efficient and high quality solution that could perform image processing on the same GPUs used for the image recognition algorithms. The performance difference between SXIVE Soft ISP and the existing solution was significant, as it not only solved the existing problem, but also performed well in terms of GPU resource utilization.

 

Environmental and traffic condition monitoring system:The client needed a solution to continuously monitor and record environmental and traffic conditions at a specific location. Based on the SXIVE LT Bundle, Solectrix quickly built a first prototype for evaluation, which could be switched to a larger HP Bundle if needed, covering all requirements regarding data processing and transmission.

 

Live tuning:Customers need to use the software library and programming interface to configure the parameters of the ISP and connected cameras to adjust image quality in real time. With the SXIVE SDK, customers can establish an image quality adjustment workflow.

 

Adaptive ISP for car cameras:The project entailed the development of a new type of camera for the automotive field, and the customer needed a personalized and customized ISP (Image Signal Processor) that could be adapted to a specific setup using both existing modules and proprietary newly developed modules. In order to gain initial experience with the sensors and the necessary algorithms, and to build up expertise for later phases of the project, a SXIVE SOFT ISP was used in the first phase of the project. The goal was to work in tandem with the sensors from the beginning, and to implement and evaluate the necessary algorithms directly on the basis of the live image, which could also be used to detect potential risks for later porting.

Sensor OEMs - Quick Show feature:Many sensor manufacturers struggle to quickly and easily demonstrate the full functionality of their new sensors to customers, and evaluation boards are of limited help because customers need quick access to highly flexible prototypes. With SXIVE, Solectrix offers a rapid imaging prototyping system that can quickly get a new sensor into operation and deploy it into a volume production program.

 

Truck OEM - Improved image processing in the implementation environment:The customer was using the camera in a vehicle and was experiencing a variety of distracting effects in the image under various lighting conditions. Solectrix compared the existing system with SXIVE Soft ISP and showed the customer a significant improvement in image quality. The solution was quick to implement and improved image processing in the field.

 

Truck OEM - High performance image pre-processing for highly automated driving:The customer needed a high-performance, low-latency ISP for real-time evaluation of cameras on remote-controlled vehicles. The customer evaluated SXIVE and found it superior to existing solutions. In addition, we also implemented some customized features, which brought additional value to the customer.

 

Automotive OEM - Series Production Support Reference System:The customer wanted to introduce a new type of image sensor (RGB-NIR) in two series projects. For a significant period of time during the series development process, the sensor image could not be processed due to the maturity of the control unit under development, but there was an urgent need to process the sensor image for risk prevention and development purposes of other relevant suppliers who were developing based on the sensor image processing technology. Customers are able to utilize the SXIVE Soft ISP-based reference system to shorten the critical time. In this way, customers can evaluate new image sensors in a timely manner and provide the required video footage in a timely manner to suppliers relying on the sensor images.

Processing and recording of real-time data in the laboratory:An automotive supplier needed to process and record images in real time, either in the lab or in the vehicle. Using the SXIVE HP Bundle, we achieved reliable data processing and recording by adapting the system precisely to the sensors, cameras and overall setup used.

 

Rapid prototyping in the field of laboratory automation:For production automation in a laboratory environment, the customer needed a quick and simple solution to evaluate new system approaches as early as possible. Various types of containers need to be recognized and analyzed. To get closer to the solution at the image algorithm level, we used the SXIVE rapid imaging prototyping system. SXIVE can test a variety of camera and system solutions to identify and evaluate potential problems and special cases. The flexible adaptability of the image processing allowed us to identify preliminary scenarios that might require further adjustments to the system at an early stage of the project.
