Handheld diagnostic equipment for CAN/CAN FD buses
The PCAN-MiniDiag FD is a portable handheld diagnostic device for rapid basic diagnostics of CAN and CAN FD buses in vehicles, machinery and industrial controls. The device automatically recognizes the network bit rate and detects terminal resistance, bus load and voltage level to help technicians quickly troubleshoot communication problems in the field.

Product Description
The PCAN-MiniDiag FD is a low-cost handheld diagnostic device for basic diagnostics and inspection of CAN and CAN FD buses. Service technicians and R&D engineers can easily connect it to any vehicle, machine or industrial control network. The device automatically recognizes the nominal bit rate of the CAN bus by means of bit timing measurements and can further recognize the data bit rate of the CAN FD bus. The device also supports terminal resistance detection, bus load measurement and CAN interface voltage level monitoring.
The device is equipped with a membrane keyboard and a ruggedized case for overall protection, and is powered by three replaceable batteries for on-site use.
The main feature of the CAN FD standard (i.e. Flexible Data Rate CAN) is the higher data transmission bandwidth, which allows up to 64 bytes of data to be transmitted per CAN FD frame (compared to 8 bytes for conventional CAN frames). Each CAN FD frame can transmit up to 64 bytes of data (conventional CAN frames are only 8 bytes) at a maximum rate of 10 Mbit/s. CAN FD is backward compatible with the CAN 2.0 A/B standard, so that CAN FD nodes can be deployed in existing CAN networks (in this case, however, the extension function of CAN FD is not available).

Test Functions
- D-Sub Voltage Detection: Measures the voltage of pin 6/9 from -40 to +43 V.
- CAN Extreme Voltage: Measures the minimum and maximum CAN high/low line voltage from -5 to +8 V.
- CAN Level Measurement: Measures the visible and invisible levels of the CAN high/low lines from -5 to +8 V.
- CAN Level Statistics: Minimum, average and maximum values of visible and invisible levels can be measured.
- Terminal Resistance: Measure the terminal resistance of the CAN bus.
- Bitrate: Automatically recognizes the bitrate by precise bit timing measurement and also supports manual setting.
- Bus Load: Graphical display of CAN bus load rate
- Counting function: CAN frame, CAN FD frame and error frame counter.
