PCAN-M12 Cable
CAN Bus Adaptor Cable for D-Sub Interface to M12 Round Connector
The PCAN-M12 cable connects the CAN lines from the D-Sub socket to the M12 round connector. In accordance with the NMEA 2000® specification, the cable incorporates additional shielding and power supply lines to enable equipment to access the system via the PCAN interface.
The M12 round connector has become the preferred solution for CAN bus connections in harsh environments due to its ruggedness and excellent environmental protection.
The NMEA 2000® standard, developed by the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA), specifies that boating equipment communicate over a CAN bus without relying on a specific vendor, and recommends the use of a specific specification of M12 connector.
