Micromixers apply the mixing principle of active and passive mixing. Passive mixing elements have extended channels or “herringbone” mixing structures. Active mixing elements with integrated stirring rods offer the option of generating mixtures with a wider range of mixing ratios, e.g. 1:10 mixing ratios, which are not possible with passive mixing equipment.
