Low Load ECU Aging Detection Program

CAN/CAN FD Bus "1 for N

In the automotive electronics industry, the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) is the key core responsible for managing various in-vehicle systems, including the engine control unit, braking system, air-conditioning system, etc. The ECU receives and analyzes sensor data to ensure the normal operation of the vehicle in terms of safety, performance and efficiency. With prolonged use, ECUs may experience aging, resulting in performance degradation, malfunctions, and even potential safety risks; therefore, it is especially important to inspect the aging condition of ECUs.

The CAN card is connected and can send a test command message, but normal communication cannot be established due to too many bus nodes and too high a load?

Take vehicle lights as an example - in the modern automotive industry, "safety" is always one of the most central considerations, and vehicle lighting systems play an extremely critical role in nighttime driving or adverse weather conditions, so the performance and reliability of vehicle lights are particularly important. As they are used for longer periods of time, lights may become less bright or react abnormally due to aging, which in turn poses a threat to driving safety. To solve this problem, more and more automakers are adopting CAN/CAN FD bus technology to check the aging of lights to ensure that the lighting system remains in optimal condition.

One of the classic methods of lamp aging detection is to simulate a CAN/CAN FD node to send a specific test command message to the ECU of the lamp, and determine the aging level based on the response of the ECU. However, in practice, due to the limited bandwidth of the CAN/CAN FD bus, one test bus can only test about 6-7 ECUs at the same time. If tens or even hundreds of ECUs need to be tested at the same time, the bus will often face the problem of overloading, and will not be able to communicate normally.

Hi-Tech Solutions

PCAN-Router Pro FD

Integrate the data flow of the new generation CAN FD with the classic CAN bus through 6 channels. The pluggable CAN transceiver module can be flexibly configured to meet different channel requirements for data flow management, monitoring and control in test bench and production line environments.

Benefits of using the Avision PCAN-Router Pro FD

Equipped with one analog input and four digital I/Os.

CAN messages can be recorded in internal storage or on an SD card, and then connected to a computer via USB or exported directly.

Supports CAN/CAN FD interoperability, allowing new CAN FD applications to be integrated into existing CAN 2.0 networks.

Configurable through standalone programming. Firmware is built with the included GNU Compiler (C/C++) development kit and can be transferred to the module via CAN.

PCAN-Router Pro FD can be cascaded to expand more CAN/CAN FD channels
