ProfiShark 1G is designed to give field engineers quick access to network packet paths. It is a portable network TAP that provides fail-safe access to the network for monitoring purposes and long-term traffic capture.
As a non-intrusive device, ProfiShark 1G cannot be detected by the network and does not alter the original traffic. This helps you capture network data without compromising the security and performance of your network. ProfiShark 1G is powered by USB 3.0 and can capture high-fidelity network traffic with accurate timestamps and packets of various sizes and types. Packets can in turn be analyzed using Wireshark or any network analyzer, where ProfiShark's hardware filtering feature can save you time and disk space.
The ProfiShark family also includes other essential features available through our own ProfiShark Manager application, such as packet slicing, statistics, configuration options and high-performance capture to disk.

All ProfiShark models can be configured in inline mode or out-of-band to monitor traffic from SPAN/mirror ports or external TAPs. The ProfiShark 100M features passive connection to the network via PoE pass-through. By design, this makes it fail-safe.
ProfiShark is typically used in conjunction with Wireshark for protocol analysis, but can be used in conjunction with most traffic analyzers.
The monitored network is physically isolated (diode) from the host to avoid any risk of injection or MITM attacks through the device.
ProfiShark can be powered via USB 3-port or 5V DC input.
