The Hongke 100BASE-T1 Media Converter is a bidirectional physical-layer converter between 100BASE-T1 (OABR) and 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet), designed to connect in-vehicle Ethernet cameras or ECUs equipped with OABR media interfaces to standard computer networks.

This device establishes a point-to-point connection between an unshielded twisted-pair automotive Ethernet (IEEE 100BASE-T1) port and a Fast Ethernet port. The device is equipped with a DSUB9 interface (supporting BroadR-Reach and CAN bus), a Fast Ethernet port with an RJ-45 connector, and a Micro-USB interface. The BroadR-Reach channel can be configured for master or slave mode via a toggle switch or programming, and supports power supply via the DSUB connector or USB. Additionally, this device can function as a USB-CAN interface.

With this feature, users can: evaluate signal strength, detect T1 port polarity, fine-tune PHY parameters, diagnose cable faults via BroadR-Reach media testing, and perform general read and write operations on the registers.

USB-CAN Interface

This device can also function as a USB-to-CAN interface. Using an open communication protocol, users can send and receive CAN data frames via the USB Virtual Serial Port (VCP).

Hongke provides free desktop software that can read status information from 100BASE-T1 media converters. When the media converter is connected to a computer’s USB port, the software displays real-time port status, signal quality, and T1 cable test results, effectively improving diagnostic and testing efficiency.
