Stereolabs ZED 2i / ZED Mini
IP66-Rated Roller Shutter / Compact USB 3.0 Stereo Camera
The ZED 2i features an IP66 protection rating and a roller shutter design, and is specifically engineered for spatial analysis and immersive experiences in complex outdoor and indoor environments. The unit features a rugged aluminum alloy housing with integrated thermal management, and is equipped with a high-performance IMU, barometer, magnetometer, and temperature sensor. Combined with the Neural Depth Engine 2, it enables precise obstacle detection, 3D mapping, and wide-angle depth perception (up to a 120° field of view). Its USB 3.1 Type-C interface supports secure, high-speed data transfer, and an optional polarizing filter is available to eliminate reflections, making it suitable for applications such as autonomous navigation, target tracking, and mixed reality (MR).
The ZED Mini features a lightweight and compact design (6.3 cm interpupillary distance) and offers high-precision depth sensing and motion tracking capabilities, making it particularly suitable for augmented reality (AR), 3D mapping, and robotics applications. The device features a built-in 6-axis IMU and supports ultra-high-resolution depth mode. Its aluminum alloy frame enhances durability and facilitates integration, while USB Type-C ensures high-speed data transfer and high reliability.
Both products support development via the ZED SDK. Users can flexibly choose between them based on deployment space, environmental protection, and field-of-view requirements: the ZED 2i emphasizes outdoor-grade durability and wide-area perception, while the ZED Mini prioritizes high-precision depth perception and motion tracking within a compact form factor.

The robots must use stereo or 3D depth cameras to capture real-time 3D environmental data and accurately identify complex components and irregularly shaped objects to meet the demands of high-precision grasping, path planning, and palletizing tasks. Therefore, the depth cameras must have an industrial protection rating of IP67 or higher, to withstand dust, vibration, oil contamination, and wide temperature ranges, ensuring stable, high-frame-rate depth data output even within the robot’s complex electromagnetic environment. This provides reliable 3D environmental perception input for the robot’s embodied intelligence model, enabling autonomous operation and safe interaction. In addition, the camera must provide a comprehensive set of APIs and ROS-compatible sample programs to simplify integration into existing development environments for embodied intelligence robots, thereby facilitating rapid project implementation and robot deployment.
